Short Course North 2017:

Short Course 2017 will be held 10-11 August 2017 at the Santa Rosa Extension Office in Milton. Mark your calendar and save the date! 

Soon you will be able to Register for Short Course North 2017. The theme for next year's session will be "How does your garden grow?" Cost will be $50 for garden club members and $65 for non-garden club members with the option to use the additional $15 to enroll as a member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and National Garden Clubs.


The Fall 2016 District I meeting was a BLAST! The Halloween theme was taken seriously by many attendees!
The state FFGC Officers were in attendance.
Sharon Johnson was given a Life Membership.
Kari Rubin, President of Dogwood Garden Club of Gulf Breeze, was our host for the day.
Valparaiso Garden Club was presented several awards.
Winner of the costume contest was Jean Ann Hartman!
Junior Gardener Chairman, Joanne Connor, came as a beautiful Butterfly, complete with compound eyes!
Cinny O'Donnell, former FFGC President and current Parliamentarian, came as a holy  nun!
A good time was had by all!

The 2016  President's Training Day "Getting to Know You Better"  was held on 30 August 2016 from 10am-2pm, at the Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Rd, Navarre. The meeting was led by Director Sharon Johnson. The more than 25  enthusiastic attendees brought their lunch and the District provided an Ice Cream Social dessert. The cost was Free!  Informative topics included:  Communications; the District's policies and procedures; training on Wild Apricot ; submitting reports, articles, and advertising your events/fundraisers.

Fun with Flowers held 22 February and 18 October 2014 were indeed FUN! Many thanks to all who attended the Fun with Flowers hands-on workshop sponsored by the Valparaiso Garden Club and Milton Garden Club, respectively. Gina Jogan, instructor, led the group in creating a traditional English Box design and a creative design. Gina also showed 8 designs for the season.  


Another Fun with Flowers hands on workshop was held 19 March 2015 and  was sponsored by the Milton Garden Club.

2013 Leadership Lunch and Learn (and ice cream social)

Held 24 June 2013 at the Navarre Library. Former FFGC District I Director Tina Tuttle presided over a very educational and entertaining meeting and many exciting and new ideas were exchanged and shared. Following a review of the objectives, goals and mission of FFGC and National Garden Club, the group discussed upcoming events, working with youth, horticulture and design programs, community outreach, scholarships, educational opportunities, awards and ways on attracting and retaining members. The group also enjoyed an ice cream social following lunch.
